Los Angeles based singer/songwriters Lindsay Russell and Dan Zweben will be the featured performers at the BMI Songwriters Club at Highland Grounds in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 19. Russell and Zweben will perform special acoustic sets following the open mic portion of the show, which is held from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Russell will perform at 9 p.m. and Zweben will perform at 9:30 p.m. Highland Grounds is located at 742 N. Highland Ave., and this event is free and open to the public. The BMI Songwriters Club is sponsored by Performer magazine.

It's farewell to major label-land for The Cure, according to band leader Robert Smith. The swan song for The Cure will be a greatest hits package that will emerge in the next few months. After that, Smith says, he will concentrate on releasing future music through the Internet in order to avoid the layers of buracracy that stifile his creative urges.
